21st International Istanbul Yarn Fair Opens Its Doors to Bring the Textile Industry Together
The 21st International Istanbul Yarn Fair, one of the textile industry’s most anticipated events, officially opened on 26 February at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center. Continuing to break its own records year after year, the fair once again brings together the industry's leading companies and professionals.As one of the textile industry’s key gatherings, the International Istanbul Yarn Fair has opened its doors to the world for the 21st time. This year’s fair, showcasing the latest innovations and trends in the yarn industry, has begun with great interest.
The fair, which kicked off with the participation of over 500 companies from countries such as Azerbaijan, China, Egypt, Germany, India, Uzbekistan, France, Italy, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom, is expected to attract nearly 20,000 visitors from more than 100 countries. Visitors from Germany, France, Morocco, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Lebanon, Egypt, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Iran, Russia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Ukraine, Tunisia, and Algeria are showing significant interest in the event.

The General Manager of Tüyap Exhibitions Production Inc., İlhan Ersözlü remarked in his opening speech: “This event, which showcases all products related to the yarn industry, proudly holds the title of the world’s largest and only yarn fair. Our goal will be to facilitate connections between visitors and exhibitors, making significant contributions to the industry's production, exports, and both domestic and international trade.”

The Governor of Uşak, Naci Aktaş, stated, ““This fair, which has attracted significant participation from both within the country and abroad, will enhance the sector’s production, exports, and trade while contributing to the national economy.”
"Learning How to Read Weaving" with Fırat Neziroğlu
The second day of the fair will feature a workshop titled “Learning How to Read Weaving!" hosted by the globally recognized weaving artist Fırat Neziroğlu. With his contemporary approach to traditional weaving techniques and a sustainability-oriented narrative, Neziroğlu will inspire professionals in the industry.
"There is Art in Thread" exhibition
The original designs from the Texture Fabric Design Contest organized by the Southeast Anatolian Exporters’ Association (GAİB) are also being displayed at the fair. The fabrics of the winning designers will be on display for visitors to appreciate throughout the fair at the "There is Art in Thread" exhibition area.
"Wet Felt and Woodblock Printing" workshop
The "Wet Felt and Woodblock Printing" workshop prepared by the Istanbul Aydın University Fashion and Textile Design Department promise a unique experience for fair visitors. Visitors who attend these workshops, held on the first and last days of the fair, will have the opportunity to experience traditional handcrafts and create their own designs.
Trends shaping the future of the industry
At the fair, innovative solutions in yarn types like cotton, polyester, viscose, wool, and elastane are displayed, offering both collaboration opportunities and a spotlight on sustainability-oriented technologies. Visitors are offered the chance to closely examine yarns, the most important raw material in the textile industry.
